Red & orange plant combination
Open border plan
This combination includes a mix of scorching colour to really hot things up in the garden. The spurge kick off the action in June and is swiftly followed by the Dahlia. The others offer asucession of colour which will last right up to the autumn.
Planting tips: Provide support for the taller plants by staking in spring with bamboo canes. After flowering remove the faded flower-heads to encourage more to come, and mulch with a generous layer of compost in autumn. The Dahlias should be cut back and gently lifted after the first hard frost, and the tubers should be stored in a cool dry spot until the spring.
You will need a sunny border measuring 2m x 1.5m.
