- Handcrafted to a traditional design
- Strong birch aircraft ply
- Higher handle to hold more flowers
This robust Sussex style trug is a variation of the popular South Down style. Entirely handcrafted using traditional methods, it comes in a natural unstained finish.
Although not a traditional Sussex trug, it is made by the original makers of the classic model who have been producing beautiful trugs since 1829.
This contemporary design has been specially created for gathering flowers, with a flat shallow basket to hold long stems without bending or breakage, and a high handle to let you harvest a generous pile of blooms.
Built to last, the boards, rims and handles have been carefully crafted from European birch aircraft ply - a tough, durable wood similar to the timber used to make the iconic Mosquito aircraft.
Birch wood is naturally rot resistant and ideal for outdoor use, but for extra protection you can apply a thin coat of sunflower oil to keep your trug looking its best.
A charming garden accessory that makes a unique gift or heirloom piece.
